Irving Penn was an American Photographer that operated within many genres e.g. fashion, portraits and still life. He has worked with Vogue. His still life photos are sometimes simple but are still effective because the frame is kept simple and the details are still very easy to take in. He released a book called "Still Life". Robert Mapplethorpe was a photographer that studied art at the Pratt Institute. He was known for his styled b&w photography. His still life photography was minimalistic and therefore effective for the same reason as Irving Penn's, The details are obvious and the frame isn't too over crowded.
